Monthly Slide Presentations
The Bellingham Railway Museum will begin a series of monthly slide
presentations dealing with transportation subjects Scheduled the
First Friday of each month.
The first presentation will be by Mr. George Werkema, a published author and
photographer,residing in Whatcom County.
WHAT: Slide Presentation: "Steel Rails to the Northwest, Connecting the
Past to the Present." It takes us from 1856 and the St. Paul and Pacific
Railroad up to 1893 when the Great Northern Railway reached Seattle. It will
also take us into Whatcom County to look at development of railroads there, and
will end with a look at famous steam engines that opened the Northwest.

ADMISSION: By donation. Seating is limited so coming early is advised.
This second presentation will be by Mr. Hank Langen, former skipper of the
modern tanker Ocean City. Mr. Langen is a resident of Bellingham, WA, and is a
volunteer at the Museum. It isn't railroading, but it's BIG and MOVES,
just like trains!
WHAT: Slide Presentation: "A Voyage." It takes us on journey from
the Persian Gulf to Singapore and Australia on board the tanker Ocean City
