The genesis of the Bellingham Railway Museum can be traced back to early 2003 when a group of local railroad modelers joined up with local railroad history enthusiasts to set up a G gauge layout and history displays in the American Museum of Radio and Electricity. By the end of the year the group registered as a Washington State non-profit corporation and also became a Federal non-profit organization under section 501(c)3.

Increased public acceptance led to a move in early 2004 into the City of Bellingham’s Downtown Parkade facility.

OUR MISSION: to provide the community with an accessible and enjoyable link to railroad heritage, history and operations. We strive to do that in a safe and friendly family environment that allows visitors of all ages to look, listen and learn while having fun.
